Lace & Fans Boot Cuffs

Living in the north it's quite cold here on the regular, but I don't like wearing big thick socks in my boots. Especially as a plus-size person, it's hard enough finding a wide-calf boot to fit my leg let alone my leg and socks. And so, boot cuffs to the rescue!!
I designed these cuffs to fit a wide-calf woman and uses just a small amount of yarn.

MATERIALS

 Worsted Weight Yarn (Medium #4)
Crochet Hook H (5mm)
Ruler/Measuring Tape
Tapestry Needle
Stitch Marker

NOTES

 Gauge: after first 4 rows cuff measures 13" in circumference, will stretch to accommodate a wide calf
 Always join to first stitch of round, slip stitch does not count as a stitch
 Bernat Premium was used in the examples
 Unless otherwise noted, all rounds start in the same st as the ch1 (i will word this as "crochet in next st" -- do not skip this first st)

SPECIAL STITCHES

dc2tog double crochet 2 together [yo, insert hook into next st, yo, pull through st, pull through 2 loops on hook] 2 times, yo, pull through all 3 loops on hook
fdc foundatoin double crochet ch 3, yo and insert hook into first chain; yo, and draw through one loop on hook – this creates the chain for the next stitch; yo and draw 2 loops on hook, yo and draw through 2 loops on hook. Yo and insert hook into the chain st you just created; yo, and draw through one loop on hook – this creates the chain for the next stitch; *yo and draw 2 loops on hook, yo and draw through 2 loops on hook.* Repeat. post  post stitch perform the indicated stitch by inserting the hook around the post of the stitch, from front of fabric to back of fabric, and back through from back of fabric to front of fabric

Sized to fit wide-calf

fdc 48, sl to join taking care not to twist the foundation, ch1

Rnd 1: fpdc around same stitch as join, bpdc around next st, *fpdc around next st, bpdc around next st* 23 times, join, ch1 (48)

Rnd 2-4: Repeat Rnd 1 (48)

Rnd 5: *sc in next 3 sts, 2sc in next st* 12 times, join, ch1 (60)
If making a 2-coloured cuff, change colors now

Rnd 6: *sc next 3 sts, ch 2, sk 3 sts, 5dc in next st, ch 2, sk 3 sts* 6 times, join (18 sc, 6 5dc fans, 12 ch2 spaces)

Rnd 7: sl st in second sc from previous round, ch 1, *sc in next, ch 2, dc in first dc, 2dc in next dc, dc in next dc, 2dc in next dc, dc in next dc (7dc fan), ch 2, sk 1 sc* 6 times, join to first sc (6 sc, 42 dc, 12 ch2 spaces)

Rnd 8: sl st up chain to first dc, ch 1, *dc2tog over first 2 dc, ch2, dc2tog over next 2 dc, ch2, dc2tog using last dc & next dc, ch2, dc2tog over next 2 dc, ch2* 6 times, join to first dc2tog (6 dc fans, for 24 dc2tog clusters total)

Rnd 9: sl st over ch2 and into second dc2tog, ch 1, *sc in dc2tog, sc in centre ch2 sp, sc in dc2tog, ch2, skip 1 ch sp, 5dc in next ch sp, ch2, sk 1 ch sp* rep 6 times, join to first sc (18 sc, 6 5dc fans, 12 ch2 spaces)


Rnd 10: : * sl st in second sc from previous round, ch 1, *sc in next, ch 2, dc in first dc, 2dc in next dc, dc in next dc, 2dc in next dc, dc in next dc (7dc fan), ch 2, sk 1 sc* 6 times, join to first sc (6 sc, 42 dc, 12 ch2 spaces)

Rnd 11: sl st up chain to first dc, ch 1, *dc2tog over first 2 dc, ch2, dc2tog over next 2 dc, ch2, dc2tog using last dc & next dc, ch2, dc2tog over next 2 dc, ch2* 6 times, join to first dc2tog (6 dc fans, for 24 dc2tog clusters total)
